Polybench - Features

Polybench is a software system for analysing and processing signals from physiological sources and for developing complete measurement protocols. It can analyse signals online and in real time, reprocess recorded measurements afterwards, and report results in a variety of forms. Beyond signal processing alone, Polybench supports the development of complete measurement cycles, encompassing the processing algorithm, the measurement protocol, and the graphical user interface.

Polybench is designed for an iterative, exploratory approach to algorithm development. Rather than specifying a processing algorithm in full beforehand, you construct it step by step from graphical building blocks and observe how the data changes at each stage, refining the processing chain through successive iterations until it yields the signal features you are looking for. Because the analysis can be modified while the system is running — with no need to stop and recompile — this cycle of building, observing, and adjusting is immediate.

Polybench can connect to any (medical or non-medical) device that produces a data stream, provided a matching device stream provider is installed. Multiple devices can be connected to a single application, allowing data from different sources to be compared directly. Polybench also provides video processing: physiological measurements and video images can be combined and reviewed in synchrony.
